2026.03.12. (Thursday) – 2026.03.29. (Sunday) — multiple cities and venues. From March 12–29, DiningCity stages the 29th National Restaurant Week, with around 200 top Hungarian restaurants offering special three-course menus starting at 6,900 HUF (service included).
For 18 days, National Restaurant Week rolls out fixed-price, custom three-course menus at 200 restaurants, including venues with Michelin recommendations. Newsletter subscribers can grab reservations from February 23, 2026. Dining at truly high-quality places is usually pricey—except this week. Top-category restaurants start at 6,900 HUF, premium at 8,900 HUF, and exclusive at 10,900 HUF, all including service. Some participants expand their selection for a favorable surcharge. Seats are limited, and table bookings are only available on the event website.
More than 200 venues are listed, many ranked among Hungary’s Top 100 by major food guides. Among them are 15 restaurants carrying international Michelin recommendations, including Bib Gourmand honorees. Expect these acclaimed kitchens to lead with their greatest hits, curating crowd favorites and standout specialties at fixed menu prices for a broad audience.
The dishes and ingredients go big. Beyond Hungarian Grey Cattle, expect Namibian zebu, mouflon, marrow bones, rabbit leg, pig’s ear, and Burgundy snails. Seafood has a serious presence: lobster, tiger prawn, yellowtail kingfish, red tuna steak, and even frog legs. Classic indulgences appear in multiple variations—truffles, duck liver, and beef tartare. Following tradition, restaurants also prepare strong options for special diets: gluten-free, lactose-free, sugar-free, vegetarian, and vegan dishes all feature. Fans of global flavors can book Lebanese, Indian, Japanese, Georgian, Mexican, and Moroccan spots, alongside traditional Hungarian kitchens.
