Every August, Hajdúszoboszló transforms into a jazz paradise for the Hajdúszoboszló Dixieland Days (Szoboszlói Dixieland Napok), drawing lovers of playful musical improvisation and soulful saxophone melodies to the Open-Air Stage at 2 József Attila Street (József Attila u. 2). The 30th Anniversary Bash
Celebrating its 30th year, this festival has entertained both the town’s locals and the annual flood of tourists since the mid-90s. Legends of the Hungarian and international jazz and dixieland scenes—like Benkó Dixieland Band, Hot Jazz Band, and Bálint Gájer (Gájer Bálint)—have all delighted crowds with unforgettable summer nights.

2025 isn’t holding back: the Benkó Dixieland Band returns after years away, Hot Jazz Band teams up with Orsi Kozma (Kozma Orsi), and the Debrecen Dixieland Band swings by from the “neighboring castle” (Debrecen is nicknamed “the Civic City” or “the Calvinist Rome”). Expect epic moments, with shows like Marching Jazz Band, Don Lázi Swingtet, Zoltán Szigeti’s (Szigeti Zoltán) trio, and Group “N” Swing, filling three nights with pure, energetic jazz.
