Every year on August 20th, the Boglári Harvest Festival lights up the Platán Beach (Platán Strand) in Balatonboglár with one of the country’s oldest and most beloved cultural, wine, and food events. Celebrating its 51st anniversary in 2025, this legendary festival takes over the lakeside from August 16th to 20th, capturing visitors’ attention with a vibrant mix of programs, concerts, markets, delicious food, a health island, a full kids’ festival, and outstanding wines from Hungary’s top wine regions.
Epic Lineup Spanning Generations
Music fans, get ready: the main stage will feature a wide range of popular acts, including Road, Lord, Mobilmania (Mobilmánia), Phoenix RT, Juhász Marci Band, Familiar Faces (Ismerős Arcok), Joci Pápai (Pápai Joci), Stars of Neoton Família, Gyula Deák Bill (Deák Bill Gyula), József Kalapács (Kalapács József), Firkin, Delta, and Dejavu. On the final day, TV-recorded sets will include Goore, Herceg, Rony, DJ Paz and Jucus, plus Josh & Betti, with a big closing concert by Gusztáv Bód (Bód Guszti) and Margó.
At the Music Pavilion (Zenepavilon), the days belong to the little ones with shows and hands-on activities, while evenings bring atmospheric concerts for all ages. Each night, dance houses come alive with energy, offering everything from salsa and rock and roll to zumba, folk, and country. Look out for performances by Lilium, Blues Fathers, Cintia Jakab (Jakab Cintia), Sexy Chocolate (Szexycsokoládé), Saxofon Fiesta Amy, Csaba Dömötör & Rebeka (Dömötör Csaba & Rebeka), Selfish Murphy, and more. Other acts like Norbert Kóti (Kóti Norbert), Alexandra Poór (Poór Alexandra), Relics, Meszka, Eszter Koczkás (Koczkás Eszter), Poppies (Mákvirágok), AcouStone Acoustic and Party Duo, and the László Lajtha AMI Brass Band (Lajtha László AMI Brass Band) keep the excitement alive.
Daytime Activities and Surprises
During the day, car and motorcycle clubs arrive for meetups, while exhibitions and markets showcase everything from fishing and hunting gear to automobiles and new construction technology. On August 17th, the festival debuts a drawing contest at the Music Pavilion (Zenepavilon) for kids and adults, awarding great prizes in four age groups. On August 19th, the spotlight moves to the bikers—with wild challenges like chili-eating and arm-wrestling contests.
Culture, Sports, and More
Africa takes center stage this year as a featured guest, bringing new colors and cultural experiences each day. The event also hosts the Brand-Independent Garage Club (Márkafüggetlen Garázs Klub), the Balkan Benz Roadtrip 2025 (Balkáni Benz Roadtrip 2025) with a huge Mercedes meet, and a variety of sports: the Platán Loop Running Race (Platán Kör Futóverseny), National Arm Wrestling Championship, Family Football Cup, and, if confirmed, the National Beach Soccer and International Teqball Championships.
For the festival finale on August 20th, the Boglár Cup Fishing Competition (Boglári Kupa Horgászverseny), a catfish seminar, street musicians, a bustling craft market, and a lively fairground wrap up the program. It’s a community-focused, multi-generational celebration where music, food, and fun come together with Balaton’s summer magic.
