On July 12, the French Institute in Budapest transforms Main Street (Fő utca) into a vibrant urban festival to mark France’s national holiday. From 5 PM to midnight, the evening will be packed with color, music, and movement—and it’s all free.
Eclectic Live Music Lineup
Anaïs Rosso, a French composer and performer, takes the stage first, blending blues, opera, electronic, and baroque influences into a unique cross-genre show. After her, Mónika Lakatos and her folk trio will perform passionate Roma (Oláh) gypsy songs, mixing in melodies from other cultures for a rich, multicultural set.
A Party That Moves
The night doesn’t end when the bands leave—DJ Sanyi takes over the decks until midnight, guaranteeing dancing in the street. Festivalgoers can also try traditional French folk games or join a group dance class. Admission and all activities are completely free, making it the summer party you can’t miss.
