Celebrating its 26th year in 2025, the Debrecen Antique Fair (Debreceni Régiségvásár) continues to attract antique lovers, collectors, traders, and hobbyists from far and wide. From March through December, it transforms the north closed car park of the Nagyerdei Stadium (Nagyerdei Stadion) into a vibrant treasure trove twice a month—on the second and fourth Sundays—starting at 7 a.m., with sellers offering everything from rare coins and medals to vintage weapons, unique gifts, antique furniture, porcelain sets, paintings, family silver, and out-of-print books. If you love the buzz of a market and the whimsy of the past, the Debrecen Antique Fair is pretty much heaven.

When and Where?

Set in the heart of Great Forest Park (Nagyerdei Park, Nagyerdei Park 12, 4031), the market welcomes vendors and shoppers from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on select dates: July 27, August 10, August 24, September 21 and 28, October 12 and 26, November 9, November 23, and December 14 in 2025. The event space is easily accessible by public transport: take tram 1 or bus numbers 10, 12, 13, 22, or 24 and get off at the Klinics (Klinikák) stop.

How It Works

The area opens for vendor set-up strictly at 5 a.m. After the fair closes at 2 p.m., everyone must pack up by 3 p.m., leaving the grounds tidy. Parking is barrier-controlled. Participation and space reservations must be arranged in advance via the provided contacts. The market strictly deals in antiques, retro items, and works of art—nothing new is allowed, and those who break this rule lose their spot immediately. Organizers rigorously enforce this so that no modern goods sneak in.

Rules and Regulations

Only antique and collectible goods are permitted. Selling new items or goods that do not fit the antique category results in immediate eviction. The organizers have a zero-tolerance policy for any breaches—inappropriate goods are swiftly removed. Vendors are expected to behave respectfully toward customers, organizers, and each other, keeping their stalls and immediate areas clean and presentable, usually with tents, tables, and sometimes even rugs under their wares. It is required to leave walkways clear and to respect the boundaries of the allocated areas. Fire safety regulations are strictly enforced.

There are legislative restrictions as well: Certain items are banned outright. You won’t find cultural assets, cave formations, fossils, firearms (of any kind), ammunition, explosives, precious metals, used clothes, outerwear (coats, fur, etc.), fur hats, bags, scarves, curtains, shoes (except military), technical items like pumps or drills, or any new packaged goods.

Practicalities

Parking fees for vendor spaces are collected on-site from 8 a.m. Regular vendors may keep their chosen spots until 6:30 a.m., after which unclaimed spaces are given to others. Not showing up without prior notice means losing your regular spot. All sales must take place within the designated car park. You can display goods on turf, blankets, tarps, or tables; green areas and nature reserves are off-limits. Porcelain and glass must be displayed on tables. Private individuals may occasionally sell their antiques under specific regulations.

Sellers receive receipts for paid rental fees. Organizers disclaim responsibility for any losses or damage—watch your own goods. Parking is free for traders and visitors in the north public lot. The fair’s rules must be followed, or sellers will be expelled—no exceptions.

The organizers reserve the right to change dates or the program.
