Every July, the beloved Nyarsapat (Nyársapát) Lecso Festival takes over the courtyard of Szarka Mansion (Szarka-kúria), drawing foodies and families to the village’s hottest summer event. This year, on July 19, 2025, festivities start at 10:00 AM when Mayor Miklos Kis (Kis Miklós) kicks off the lecso (lecsó) cooking contest alongside the lively “Lecsó Radio” (Lecsórádió) with Betti Bekker. At noon, get ready for a hilarious, music-filled cooking show featuring Endre Beleznay and Monika Kadar (Mónika Kádár).
Fiery Competitions and Flavorful Experiences
From 1:00 to 2:00 PM, the lecso dishes face judgment and the crowd enjoys lunch—tasting tickets go for about 2.70 USD each, purchased directly from the teams. Watch the Duende Dance School, Cegled Folk Ensemble (Ceglédi Néptáncegyüttes), the Monoi Women’s Choir (Monói Női Kar) from Transylvania, and Nyarsapat Folk Singers (Nyársapáti Népdalkör) take the stage, followed by non-stop music from Sogorok (Sógorok), a retro party with Sheela, a Zsuzsa Cserhati (Cserháti Zsuzsa) tribute by Adrienn Feher (Fehér Adrienn), and DJ Bero spinning until midnight.
Fun for Kids and Blood Donors
Kids can zip down the Minecraft slide, play laser tag, and get crafty with hands-on activities from noon to 6:00 PM. Early birds can even donate blood between 9:00 AM and noon. The organizers reserve the right to adjust the lineup and times, ensuring that the surprises just keep coming.
