The Kecskemét (Kecskemét) Flea Market—a legendary destination for locals, visitors, and people from surrounding villages—sprawls over a massive 49-acre space right by Saint Ladislaus Boulevard (Szent László körút). Easily accessible from both Saint Ladislaus (Szent László) and Mindszenti Boulevards (Mindszenti körút), it’s open year-round every Saturday and Sunday, including holidays. Rain or shine, summer or winter, the market never rests, making it a fixture for bargain hunters and weekend explorers from across Hungary.

All-Out Market Experience

Every weekend, the Kecskemét (Kecskemét) Flea Market (Zsibpiac) bustles with life, drawing sellers and treasure seekers from every corner of the country. The number of stalls increases each year, so there’s always something new to discover. Expect a vast and ever-changing assortment: antiques and curiosities, secondhand gems, new goods, candies, local specialties and treats, plants, and much more. The market’s generous buffet options offer everything from crispy roast meats to chimney cake (kürtőskalács), fried dough (lángos), ice cream, sodas, and other refreshing drinks. Plus, clean public restrooms are available for shoppers.

Free parking means you can hunt for deals without worrying about your car, and with plenty of space, you can bring the whole family. Sundays are the most crowded, matching the city’s leisurely pace, while Saturdays offer a little more room to browse. For something special, every month in the second half, a Small Animals Fair and a Vintage Car & Motorcycle Parts Bazaar take over the neat, stone-paved area near the Saint Ladislaus Boulevard (Szent László körút) entrance—heaven for collectors and enthusiasts.

Selling, Eating, and Rules of the Game

New vendors are always welcome but are encouraged to check in with the market supervisors ahead of time to ensure a smooth setup. If you want a regular spot, you’ll need to arrange a seasonal rental. Mobile buffet operators need to act quickly—available spots fill up rapidly, and advance written registration is mandatory.

The market opens bright and early, from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. For 2025, the most exciting weekends are set: July 12-13, July 19-20, July 26-27, August 2-3, and additional highlighted dates: July 26, August 23, September 27, and October 25.
