For more than forty years, the Kösely Cup has stood out as one of eastern Hungary’s top equestrian events. Equestrian fans can head to the Hajdúszoboszló (Hajdúszoboszló) airfield August 1-3, 2025, where riders from all over the country will compete for the town’s Grand Prize. While show jumping is the main attraction, the festival fills the weekend with vibrant programs—from horse herder competitions and craft fairs to dazzling performances.
Tradition, Entertainment, and Horses
The idea for the first Hajdúszoboszló (Hajdúszoboszló) horse race was born in 1981, aiming to honor the ancient horsemen of the region and celebrate local traditions. Ever since, the festival has held a prominent place in the city’s summer calendar, preserving its original spirit: prestigious competitions, spectacular side events, and a perfect outing for families.
Food, Folk Art, and Culture
Visitors can sample goods from local producers, shop from folk artists, and join hands-on crafts or dance sessions celebrating Hungary’s folk culture. Entry to the festival is free, except for the concert and horse theater show. Events and dates may change at the organizers’ discretion.
