From August 8 to August 31, 2025, Balatonfüred becomes Hungary’s wine capital. Tagore Promenade (Tagore sétány) will host the city’s most beloved food and wine festival, the Balatonfüred Wine Weeks (Balatonfüredi Borhetek). For nearly a month, festivalgoers can sample almost 300 types of wine made from thirty different grape varieties, all from the Balaton wine region. Twenty-four winemakers offer tastings in pop-up wine pavilions, creating a true haven for foodies and wine enthusiasts.
Nonstop Gigs & Blissful Tasting
Live music gives the Wine Weeks (Borhetek) its vibrant energy. Every day, bands perform jazz, blues, and folk music across several stages—the Kisfaludy Stage (Kisfaludy Színpad), the Rizling Stage (Rizling Színpad) on Tagore Promenade, the floating stage, and even among the wine stalls. The air is filled with great tunes and even better aromas from local and regional delicacies.
A Grand Opening with Havasi
To kick off the festival, the famous pianist and composer Balázs Havasi (Havasi Balázs) will launch his latest Havasi Concert Show at the Balatonfüred Congress Center (Balatonfüredi Kongresszusi Központ) on August 8 at 8:30 pm. The audience will experience new musical compositions, signature pieces, dazzling visuals, and a special guest appearance by cellist Mihály Simkó-Várnagy. As Hungary’s best-known classical show, Havasi’s music has wowed audiences worldwide—at Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, and Wembley Arena—and now arrives on Balaton’s sun-kissed shores.
