Every autumn, the small town of Great Circle (Nagykörű) transforms into the unofficial capital for pálinka (fruit brandy) lovers as the International Great Circle (Nagykörű) Pálinka and Distillate Contest rolls out its barrels. Taking place from September 19 to 21, 2025, this spirited event isn’t just for hardcore pálinka fans—it’s a full-on celebration across several venues and towns, featuring tastings, wild competitions, and complete immersion into Hungary’s most potent traditional drink.

Throughout the festival, a jaw-dropping selection of 358 entries compete for the honor of best pálinka or distillate, making the tasting rooms the heart and soul of the event. Whether you’re experienced or new to the fiery stuff, there’s a flavor profile to challenge your senses—or possibly your limits.
