Murci Festival (Murcifesztivál), running October 3–5, 2025 in Ábrahámhegy (Ábrahámhegy), celebrates “murci” — the fizzy, in-between drink that’s not quite grape juice and not quite wine. Visitors can taste it, party at a harvest ball, and enjoy music and dance almost nonstop at the village beach and community house. Foodies can also indulge, with tasty bites offered throughout the weekend.
Music, Parades, and Midnight Revelry
Friday kicks off with Julianna Holányi’s art exhibit, followed by concerts from Józanészek and Essense. On Saturday morning, DJ Jackson gets the party started, followed by the lively harvest parade winding through town. Watch for the blessing of the new wine at Saint Ladislaus (Szent László) Church, then bands, a majorette show, and a greeting from Tibor Navracsics, Minister of Public Administration. The “Murci King” (Murcikirály) contest, more concerts, and a DJ-fueled beach party keep the energy high until 2 am.
Sunday: Tradition and Farewell
Sunday opens with a communal cookout and festivities — a cooper demonstration, painting fair, folk dance, storytime, lunch, and more music to finish off the wild weekend.
