Every autumn, Monor’s Strázsa Hill (Strázsahegy) transforms into a lively village of open wine cellars for one day only. On October 25, 2025, both locals and visitors are invited to stroll through the Monor Cellar Village (Monori Pincefalu), hopping from cellar to cellar, tasting the unique spirits of the harvest, and feasting on pumpkin-infused treats. Whether you come with family, friends, or coworkers, you’ll find something fresh, spicy, and irresistibly autumnal at every turn.
Follow the Scent of Pumpkins and Spice
The Monor Cellar Village offers a nostalgic walk full of culinary surprises. MOHIBI Press House (MOHIBI Présház) kicks off the flavor parade: Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin Mule cocktails set the mood, while spiced pumpkin muffins and Szabi the Pizzaiolo’s “pumpkin” Neapolitan pizzas keep appetites satisfied. Enjoying local Balaton Uplands wines or pumpkin twists on the classic spritz, guests can dance from 5pm to DJ Róbert Szentgyörgyi spinning ’90s classics and today’s hottest tracks.
Family, Fun, and Flavors
At the Ladybug Winehouse (Katica Borház), traditional Székely cabbage stew with smoked pork is served alongside pumpkin-studded potato pancakes—and don’t miss the workshops where kids and adults make quirky pumpkin figurines. Baldavári Winery pairs its own Kadarka reds with goat cheese grazing plates topped with pumpkin seeds, while an ornamental pumpkin market tempts home decorators.
At Csúzi Cellar and Gastro Market, you’ll find coconut-milk pumpkin soup (lactose-free!), pumpkin Angus burgers, pulled pork sandwiches with pumpkin cheddar sauce, and vanilla-pumpkin “hornet’s nest” pastries. Retro party vibes start at 4pm with DJ Gábor Kispál, plus cider tasting, apple teas, and family-friendly craft activities.
Fine Wines Meet Homemade Eats
Kupec Cellar welcomes sommelier Béla Szente, pouring wines from Villány’s Vinatus Estate alongside the Vejkó Restaurant’s signature bites. KultPince serves Vienna-inspired sandwiches, cheese and sausage platters, and the ever-tempting Somló Trifle amidst a bustling antiques fair.
Lusta Páva Wine Bar & Bistro goes wild with game stew featuring pumpkin’s distinctive flavor, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin lattes, and savory treats, with live music from 1pm. Lukácsy Cellar opens its doors for tastings of their own wines, including the very first bottles of the 2025 vintage.
Pizza, Pick-Me-Ups, and Playgrounds
At Fecske Cellar and Wine Terrace, pumpkin pizza with caramelized onions, goat cheese, and Mangalitsa (Mangalica) sausage takes center stage, alongside house-smoked pork with horseradish-pumpkin cream and garlic bread. Both their old and new (unfiltered!) wines flow freely, paired with homemade soft drinks.
Petrovai Cellar serves hearty fare: homemade sausage, oven-baked Italian pizza, burgers, fries, and chimney cake (kürtőskalács). The local band Lucky Five (Ötös fogat) provides the tunes, while kids enjoy a folk playhouse, face painting, a bouncy castle, and cheese tastings.
Százas Cellar features roast duck platters, pumpkin and wild mushroom mash, and lavender strudels in a pumpkin-inspired fantasy. The Happy Five band entertains from 2 to 8pm, while the buffet boasts pumpkin liqueur, pumpkin lattes, lemonade, and cakes paired with award-winning Megyeri wines.
Giant Pancakes, Cheese, and Local Surprises
Váczi Cellar refuels visitors with Hungarian flatbreads, giant pancakes, and pumpkin-curd cakes, accompanied by Schieszl Winery’s Etyek-Buda vintages. Children can pet calves and lambs and play on the playgrounds.
Vicencz Cellar hosts guest winemakers, serves homemade sage-bacon Hasselback pumpkin, and sets the mood with a vineyard-side DJ. DomBerZol Cellar offers towering stacks of pancakes (pumpkin or poppy seed), pork with pumpkin lecsó, and pumpkin rice pudding. Hot tea, cocoa, mulled wine, and the unique pistachio Bombardino warm wandering guests.
