St. Martin’s Day weekend in Pannonhalma (Pannonhalma) is all about tasting the freshest new wines and savoring local flavors from November 7-9, 2025. Wineries open their cellars for special tastings, showcasing both their cherished classics and debuting this year’s bottles. Bring your appetite: this three-day event pairs wine with traditional feasts, live music, and even a party bus for easy vineyard hopping.
Friday: Kick Off with Wine and Feasts
Start the weekend at Ács Winery (Ács Pincészet) in Győrújbarát (by appointment) or enjoy a six-wine dinner at Cseri Winery (Cseri Pincészet) in Nyúl for just $49 per person. The Pannonhalma Abbey’s cellar offers guided tours and tastings at 11:30 and 14:00, with cheese scones, and a themed “Winemaker of the Year” tasting at 18:00. Herold Cellar (Herold Pince) in Pannonhalma serves a goose dinner with live music from 18:30.
Saturday: All-Out Cellar Crawl
Hop on the vineyard shuttle, running every two hours from Hotel Famulus and Hotel Rába (daily pass $11 per person; register by Nov 5), to sample five-wine tastings at Pécsinger ($15), Ács (with foie gras toast, $18), and Babarczi (plus duck rillette, $18). Cseri and Herold offer bites with unlimited dips ($21), while the Abbey and Hangyál Cellar (Hangyál Pince) host their own specialty tastings.
Sunday: Chill Finish
Wrap up at Ács (by appointment) or join more Abbey cellar tours (three- or five-wine tastings with cheese scones). Other cellars are closed on Sunday.
