Spin Into Color: Magic Saturdays At Vasarely Museum

Discover hands-on family fun at Budapest's Vasarely Museum: Magic Saturdays offer creative workshops exploring art, science, and optical illusions for kids and adults. Next session: October 11, 2025.
when: 2025. October 11., Saturday
where: Hungary, Vasarely MĂşzeum

Every second Saturday of the month, Budapest’s Vasarely Museum (Vasarely MĂşzeum) becomes interactive with its family-friendly and mind-bending workshop series. The next session, scheduled for October 11, 2025, is called Movement Magic: Spinner and delves into the optical illusion discovered in 1838 by Gustav Fechner. He found that spinning a black-and-white patterned disc reveals surprising colors to the human eye.

Make Your Own Benham Spinner

In 1894, Charles Benham took Fechner’s idea and turned it into a playful experiment—now known as the Benham Spinner. At the upcoming workshop, kids aged 6–12 and their adult companions can create their very own “color-magic” spinner kit to take home. This hands-on event promises creativity and science, bridging the worlds of art and perception for the whole family within the dazzling setting of the Vasarely Museum (Vasarely MĂşzeum).
