For almost 50 years, Szeged Jazz Days (Szegedi Jazz Napok) has been Hungary’s premier jazz festival, renowned for its outstanding artist lineups and unique concerts that have caught the attention of jazz fans far beyond the country.
First Night: Young Legends and Wild Packs
On November 7 at 8:00 PM, the Tribute to Gábor “Füsti” Balogh (Füsti Balogh Gábor) Band opens the festival. Formed in 2022 by renowned bassist János Egri, the group features Kálmán Oláh Jr. (soprano saxophone), Bálint Uher-Győrfi (tenor saxophone), János Egri Jr. (piano), János Egri (bass), and András Pecek Lakatos (drums). FALKA follows, with Dominik Kosztolánszki (tenor saxophone), Krisztián Ördög (reed instruments), Márton Udvardi (trumpet), András Schlosser (guitar), Sámuel Baló (piano), Péter Ajtai (bass), Ambrus Richter and István Baló (drums).
Second Night: All Stars and International Flavor
On November 8 at 8:00 PM, the Brotherhood Allstars Quintet will take the stage—Sándor “Soso” Lakatos (alto saxophone), Zoltán Zana (tenor saxophone), József Balázs (piano), Krisztián Lakatos Pecek (bass), and Elemér Balázs (drums). Next, the Kahlil Childs Quartet from the USA features Kahlil Childs (alto saxophone), Quincy Reyes (piano), Luke Little (bass), and Zollie Wariner (drums). The venue is Szeged’s Event Center (IH Rendezvényközpont).
