For 18 days, from October 2 to 19, 2025, foodies across Hungary (Magyarország) can enjoy top-tier dining at surprising prices, thanks to the 28th National Restaurant Week organized by DiningCity. Over 200 of the country’s elite restaurants—including 15 with international Michelin recommendations—will present their best three-course menus at fixed prices, starting at just $19 (service charge included).

Michelin-Tipped Meals Without the Price Tag

Let’s face it: dining at Hungary’s culinary elite is usually a splurge. But for nearly three weeks this autumn, National Restaurant Week flips the script, allowing diners to explore exclusive menus at wallet-friendly prices. Standard category restaurants will serve three courses from $19, premium spots from $25, and the exclusive top tier starts at $30—all service charges included. Some participating restaurants are even offering broader menu choices for a modest extra fee—so you might discover something new outside your comfort zone.

What’s On the Menu?

If you’ve ever wanted to sample rare and eclectic ingredients, this event is your golden ticket. Sure, the famous Hungarian (magyar) tarka beef is featured, but how about Namibian zebu, mouflon, bone marrow, rabbit thigh, pig’s ear, or Burgundy snails? The seafood selection is equally adventurous: lobster, tiger prawns, yellow kingfish, red tuna steak, and even frog legs could be on the menu. Truffle enthusiasts, foie gras fans, and steak tartare lovers will find their favorites in a variety of creative renditions.

Vegetarians, vegans, and anyone with dietary restrictions won’t be left out. Menus cater to gluten-, lactose-, and sugar-free diets with plenty of plant-based options. Whether you’re seeking a plant-powered feast, an adventure into international flavors—think Lebanese, Indian, Japanese, Georgian, Mexican, Moroccan—or prefer to stick to classic Hungarian cuisine, you’ll find dishes to love.

The Michelin Star Powerhouses

Among the 200+ participating venues are 15 with international Michelin recommendations—a real catch for those eager to enjoy award-winning fare for less. Notables include: My Kitchen Studio 365 (A Konyhám Stúdió 365, Fonyód), Bilanx, Costes Downtown, Cut & Barrel, Felix Kitchen & Bar, The Boar Restaurant (Góré étterem, Kisharsány), Iszkor Restaurant (Iszkor étterem, Mályinka), Little Cricket Restaurant – Food & Room**** (Kistücsök Étterem, Balatonszemes), MÁK restaurant, Moscow Square Bistro (Moszkvatér Bisztró), Natura Hill (Zebegény), Spago Budapest by Wolfgang Puck, Szaletly Inn and Garden (Szaletly Vendéglő és Kert), Texture Restaurant (Textúra étterem), and UMO Restaurant. Even venues with the Bib Gourmand award are in the spotlight, promising top-quality food that is accessible to all.

Plan Your Culinary Tour

The best part? You don’t have to go in blindly—each restaurant’s set menu is published on the event website when you reserve your table, so you can seek out the cuisines that excite you, from Hungarian, French, Moroccan, American, Italian, Mexican, and Asian specialties to innovative fusion menus. It’s a buffet of options for omnivores, vegans, and anyone dealing with allergies—no one’s left out.

Reservations are managed exclusively through the National Restaurant Week website, making planning simple yet competitive; with limited spots at Hungary’s best restaurants, tables are in hot demand.

Over 200 restaurants are rolling out the red carpet, both in Budapest and across the country.
