The Budapest Playhouse is bringing the classic Snow Queen (Hókirálynő) fairytale to life at the UP Event Space in Budapest throughout late 2025. With dazzling visuals and non-stop action, it promises to captivate even the most screen-obsessed kids. If you’re craving something truly wintry, the show isn’t just limited to Budapest—it will also appear throughout the Hungarian countryside starting in November 2025.
Plot & Experience
The story follows siblings Kay and Gerda, who live happily with their grandmother. But their world is turned upside down when the ruthless, icy-hearted Snow Queen whisks Kay away to her frozen kingdom. Gerda embarks on a wild adventure, vowing to rescue her brother and bring him back home, no matter the odds. The show lasts about 60 minutes and isn’t recommended for kids under five.
