Weekends in Fehérvárcsurgó are about to get a lot greener—and leafier. The renovated park at Károlyi Castle (Károlyi Kastély), with its sprawling 56-acre (22.5-hectare) historical garden, welcomes visitors for monthly botanical walks through the end of 2025. Whether you’re a plant enthusiast or simply looking for a breath of fresh air, the garden’s collection of 100- to 170-year-old native and exotic trees, sparkling boating lake, and charming gloriette await your exploration.
All the Sights, Rain or Shine
Whatever the weather, guided two-hour strolls start from the visitor center (a converted stable) at 2 p.m. The walks not only showcase the historical park and its new plantings made possible by extensive renovations, but also highlight the area’s status as a protected natural reserve. Accommodation and drinks are available nearby, making it easy to turn your visit into a proper outing.
Meet the Experts & Plan Ahead
Landscape architect Orsolya Györök leads the guided walks, and the itinerary is crafted by experts from the National Botanical Garden (Nemzeti Botanikus Kert). Upcoming dates for 2025 are October 19, November 16, and December 21. With limited spots, advance registration is required.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5.70 for students and seniors, $7.10 per person for groups (min. 10), and a $14.30 family ticket covers two adults and two children. Organizers note that the program is subject to change, so keep an eye out for updates. See you under the trees!
