Tour Details and Highlights

Conveniently located in downtown Budapest at 2 Brüll Alfréd Street (Brüll Alfréd utca 2), the stadium hosts tours twice on Mondays and Wednesdays (10:00 AM and 2:00 PM). Plan for at least 1.5 hours; the guided walk takes about an hour. Enjoy breathtaking views of the empty stadium, explore the home and away dressing rooms, soak up the club’s rich history, and wander through backstage areas reserved for staff and players. Relive the greatest sporting and cultural moments in Hidegkuti Stadium’s (Hidegkuti Stadion) history on this unique journey.

More Than Just a Stadium

MTK Budapest, also known as the Blue and Whites of Budapest, have inspired football lovers across Hungary for over 100 years. After claiming 23 Hungarian championship titles and 12 Hungarian Cups, MTK ranks second on Hungary’s all-time football leaderboard. Their home has always been right downtown, with the new stadium—opened in 2016—replacing the timeworn buildings that served loyal fans for generations. The stadium honors Nándor Hidegkuti (Hidegkuti Nándor), MTK’s legendary striker and star of Hungary’s world-famous Golden Team: silver medalists at the 1954 FIFA World Cup and victors over England at the “Match of the Century” at Wembley a year earlier. Hidegkuti wore the iconic number 9 shirt, joined by three other MTK players in that renowned lineup.

State-of-the-Art Features

With a capacity for 5,322 spectators, the modern arena boasts a hybrid Grassmaster “Desso” pitch—the first in Central and Eastern Europe to feature this, just like Anfield, Old Trafford, or San Siro. Stadium lighting is provided by 214 unique Schreder–Tungsram LED lamps. Together with Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, Nándor Hidegkuti Stadium (Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion) pioneered the combination of LED lighting with hybrid pitch technology. There are 33 two-level skyboxes on either side of the stadium, each accommodating 10–12 guests for matchday excitement or business meetings.
