Veszprém’s Eötvös Károly Library is rolling out a packed slate of literary meetups, book launches, film, music, and community events from November into next summer, and everyone’s invited to pull up a chair at 3 Komakút Square (Komakút tér 3).
Postcards, Pedagogy, and a Surprise Film
On Wednesday, November 5 at 5:00 p.m., The Colorful World of Postcards book launch takes over the Kisfaludy Room. Greetings come from Dr. Zoltán Poór, Veszprém postcard collector, and Csaba Farkas, head of Homeland Publishing (Szülőföld Kiadó). Editor and collector Ottó Galambos presents the volume, with music by the Hungarikum Ensemble. Before that, from 3:00–4:30 p.m., the Hungarian Pedagogical Society’s Veszprém County Section meets on Raising Collectors and Collection Pedagogy, led by retired associate professor Dr. Poór. Also on the 5th: Let’s Lay Out Our Cards! welcomes all ages to a card club, and the American Corner hosts a Surprise Movie Afternoon.

From November 6–29, the Small Gallery shows Veszprém Images from the Turn of the 19th–20th Centuries. November 7: In the Saddle! focuses on 21st‑century “Adams.” November 8: Kids’ Corner. November 11: Petőfi, the Aerialist, a musical literary night. November 12: Margit Schmöltz’s Nothing Is Wrong – Loves in the Shadow of the Mongol Invasion book launch. November 14: Battle of Myths, live storytelling for adults.

November 15 doubles up: Peru – As We Saw It, a photo‑rich talk on its seen and unseen worlds, plus a bunker tour and historical ramble in Monasteries and Gardens as part of Castle‑view Walks. November 17: Your Voice Matters! nationwide youth workshop series. November 18: Board game afternoon at the American Corner. November 22: Boban Marković Orkestar – Mrak, about $32 to $38. November 25: Spelling bee at the American Corner.
