2025.11.08. (Saturday), 8100, Erőmű utca, Várpalota — and yes, you’re allowed in. Tiéd a gyár! (The Factory Is Yours!) is the shorter, easier spin-off of the hit Csúcs volt Inotán (Peak Inota) Túrajó walk, zeroing in on the Inota Power Plant’s greatest hits: the ground floors of the boiler house and turbine hall, the control room, and a peek inside one of the iconic cooling towers. “No entry”? With us, it’s fine.

This guided walk threads through the abandoned, crumbling ground-level halls of a once-buzzing socialist industrial town, built under the first five-year plan. You’ll step into the boiler house where Ryan Gosling showed up in Blade Runner 2049, check out the command center repurposed as a rocket launch room in Lajkó – Cigány az űrben (Lajkó – Gypsy in Space), and gaze up inside those monumental concrete towers that defined the skyline.

Retro Hungary, Up Close

Along the way, expect stories that bring late-20th-century Hungary to life: where the Inota comrades soaked in their favorite thermal bath, who got to live in the adjacent Készenléti (Standby) housing estate, and what “well-being” really meant under the Kádár regime. If retro aesthetics thrill you, if exotic film locations are your thing, and you’re up for a unique urban exploration, you’re in the right place.

What’s Included, What’s Not

Tiéd a gyár! covers the boiler house, turbine hall (ground floors only), control room, and one cooling tower. The Béke (Peace) Cultural House isn’t part of this route—it’s explored in depth on the Erőművészet (Power Art) Túrajó walk and still features on the popular Csúcs volt Inotán tour.
