Veres 1 Színház has launched The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, one of Agatha Christie’s most famous mysteries, under the direction of Kornél Simon for 2025. It sticks to classic vibes but shakes up the casting in all the right ways. Száraz Dénes steps in as loyal friend Hector Blunt, while Szabó P. Szilveszter makes his company debut as Dr. James Sheppard, the physician who aids the investigation. And in a striking move, the iconic, stocky, mustachioed Belgian, Hercule Poirot, is played by African-born Kálid Artúr.
