Budapest’s Zsilip rolls out a cozy pre-Shabbat tradition with Péntekecske on Friday evenings. While adults sit in the synagogue for Rabbi Glitzi’s teaching, kids dive into a playful session with a madricha in the Zsiliputi playhouse. Expect stories from the weekly Torah portion, Shabbat themes, and the current holiday, all with pictures and plenty of games. Attentive listeners get gifts, and yes, there’s a raffle. Bring the whole family and learn together on Shabbat! Budapest. Date: Friday, 2025.11.14.
Sunday School Is Back, Bigger, and Buzzier
The beloved Sunday kids’ program returns as Zsiliputi Jewish Sunday School, now refreshed and housed in the multi-level Zsilip Center with a two-story playhouse and multiple study rooms. Generations of kids have treasured these Sunday mornings packed with shared play and playful learning—and the new format keeps that spirit alive. From 10:00 to 12:30, children and teens ages 4–14 join age-based groups to prep for upcoming holidays, learn about mitzvot, explore traditions, and absorb values that stick for life. Tiny kid, tween, pre–Bar/Bat Mitzvah, or already eyeing the youth group—this Sunday School is made for you. Budapest. Date: 2025.11.16.
Another Friday, Another Warm Welcome

Family learning that actually feels like Friday night. Budapest. Date: Friday, 2025.11.21.
