On November 19, a new round of Parent Nights returns to Veszprém with a down-to-earth session on Atypical Parenting – Positive Discipline. The guest speaker, Móni Füstös, a parenting expert and Positive Discipline educator with a neurodiversity focus, will unpack everyday challenges with practical examples. Expect insights on understanding your child’s unique wiring, keeping discipline loving yet consistent, and shaping a home where both parent and child feel safe and accepted. Time: Wednesday, November 19, 2025, 18:00. Venue: Padányi Catholic School, Veszprém (Szeglethy St. 6). Organized by the Archdiocese of Veszprém’s Family Pastoral Office. Guided Fortress Walks
November 22 and 23 feature themed guided tours at 11:30, 14:00, and 16:00. The Walk of Light and Devotion pairs the Archbishop’s Palace with the Gizella Chapel, running Saturday–Sunday at 11:30 and 16:00. A Thousand Years’ Path explores the Cathedral, the crypt, and St. George’s Chapel, Saturday–Sunday at 14:00.
The same schedule returns on November 29. On November 30, walks run at 14:00 and 16:00; themes remain unchanged: Walk of Light and Devotion at 11:30 and 16:00, A Thousand Years’ Path at 14:00.
Mindszenty – From Palace to Prison
On November 27, the Archdiocese of Veszprém marks the anniversary of Bishop József Mindszenty’s arrest with a free, registration-only tour tracing his path from the courthouse to the Castle Prison (Várbörtön). Participants will move through the Courthouse building and delve into the Devictus Vincit chamber exhibition, which evokes Mindszenty’s captivity in granular detail. The walk is led by Tibor László Varga, archivist of the Veszprém Archdiocesan Archives. Start: in front of the Veszprém Courthouse at 15:30 (Veszprém, Vár Street 19). Finish: Castle Prison Visitor Center, also known as the Ruttner House.
