Budapest’s beloved ZENE-BOR celebration returns for its 29th edition on December 30, 2025, pairing a grand gala concert by the world‑famous 100 Tagú Cigányzenekar (100‑Member Gypsy Orchestra) with an indulgent culinary journey. While the orchestra performs, guests can savor a festive wine dinner or opt for a cold tasting plate with wines, enjoying the audio‑visual spectacle the ensemble is uniquely known for. Venue: Jagelló St. 1–3., 1124.
Two-Part Concert, Timeless Repertoire
The evening unfolds in two acts, blending virtuosic gypsy music with beloved classical favorites and folk pieces reimagined in the orchestra’s signature, richly orchestrated sound. Keeping tradition alive, the program again spotlights crowd-pleasing melodies by Franz Lehár (Ferenc Lehár) and Emmerich Kálmán (Imre Kálmán), performed by popular soloists from the Budapest Operetta Theatre (Operettszínház). Under the direction of Chief Prímás József Lendvai Csócsi, fireworks accompany the rousing finale: Pacsirta and the Radetzky March. This year also marks the orchestra’s 40th anniversary.
