Expect a carefully curated buffet dinner, standout jazz acts, and a Latin fiesta that runs until dawn. The midnight cheer, the post-midnight raffle, and the vibe for your first moments of 2026 are in the hands of master of ceremonies Péter Janklovics. Doors open at 21:00.

Where the city’s jazz heart beats

The club is the capital’s jazz hub, known for a friendly atmosphere, refined bistro cooking, an expansive drinks list with signature cocktails and rare beers, plus superb concert-hall acoustics. New Year’s Eve guests get relaxed rows of seats in the main hall and casual, stand-up reception spaces in the café and bistro. Between 21:00 and 23:00, a buffet menu awaits. There’s champagne at midnight and homemade stuffed cabbage after midnight.

Live program

21:30 — Noémi Nagy Quartet. The band dives into jazz standards with full-blooded commitment and unmistakably refined taste. Their easygoing delivery invites the crowd into the swing and bebop of the ’40s, ’50s, and ’60s, spiced with their own arrangements. Line-up: Noémi Nagy — vocals; Balázs Horváth — piano; Gézu Jónás — double bass; Tamás Fazekas — drums.
22:45 — Budapest Ragtime Band. One of Hungary’s most venerable traditional jazz ensembles, founded in 1980 by conservatory and Academy of Music graduates. They champion ragtime while showcasing and popularizing several classic American genres. For the occasion, they’ll also pick from their series of hits from popular American cartoons. Line-up: Ferenc Gayer — bandleader, double bass; Krisztián Csapó — vocals, trombone; Tivadar Varga — piano; Sándor Csárics — trumpet; József Széki — xylophone, percussion, vocals; Tibor Antal — violin; János Wesely — drums.
00:00 — Midnight champagne toast.
00:15 — Raffle with valuable prizes (Grand Prize: BJC Bistro voucher worth $164).
00:30 — Elsa Valle Bakary. The celebrated singer, joined by the Bakary Trio, revisits her best-known songs in fresh, Afro-Cuban–inspired dress. Effect-laced guitar and drums lay the groundwork under her authentic voice. The sound is Latin and energizing, the young instrumentalists give it everything, and Elsa’s trademark electricity turns the room tropical. Line-up: Elsa Valle — vocals; Bálint Petz — guitar; Viktor Hárs — double bass; Zsolt Mádai — drums.

Pros
+
Family-friendly vibe with seating options and a relaxed café/bistro setup, so teens and music-loving kids won’t feel out of place
+
Internationally familiar music mix (American jazz standards, ragtime, and Latin) makes it easy for U.S. visitors to connect with the show
+
Budapest is a well-known European city-break for Americans, and the Budapest Jazz Club is a respected, central venue locals recommend
+
No Hungarian needed: staff at major Budapest venues usually speak English, and the program leans on universally known genres
+
Easy to reach: central XIII district, quick tram/metro/taxi access, and rideshares are common; driving/parking possible but not necessary
+
Program runs past midnight with champagne, raffle, and a Latin set—feels like a full New Year’s experience, not just a concert
+
Buffet leans French/European with clear crowd-pleasers, good for mixed tastes and dietary preferences if you’re flexible
Cons
Not a kids’ event per se: it’s late-night, alcohol-forward, and goes till dawn, so very young children may struggle
The club itself isn’t a globally iconic landmark, so it lacks the bucket-list cachet of New Year’s in Times Square or Vienna’s Philharmonic
Seating is mixed (rows plus standing areas), and New Year’s crowds can feel packed compared with roomier U.S. venues
Compared to U.S. NYE galas, expect less spectacle (no massive countdown visuals/fireworks on-site), with the focus squarely on music and vibe
