The story

Szűcs János (János Szűcs), a bank CEO and notorious womanizer, plans a month-long escape far from the world—and women. Before he leaves, he splurges on a gleaming Horch 780 convertible for 20,000 pengő. But when a young woman browsing the showroom catches his eye, his careful plans skid off course, and a whirlwind of romance and twists begins.

Pros
+
Family-friendly vibes: classic rom-com plot, music, and a multigenerational cast make it easy for kids, parents, and grandparents to enjoy together
+
Internationally accessible story: boy-meets-girl comedy from a 1930s hit is easy to follow even if you don’t know the original film
+
Location has authentic small-city charm: Nagykanizsa offers a more local Hungarian experience than Budapest, which can be a fun cultural detour
+
No Hungarian required to enjoy the spectacle: songs, visuals, and slapstick make the gist clear; a plot summary beforehand covers the rest
+
Easy to reach by car: Nagykanizsa sits near the M7 motorway between Budapest and the Croatian border, with straightforward parking in the center
+
Public transport workable: direct trains and coaches from Budapest/Zagreb region, then short local walks to Széchenyi Square
+
Unique compared to U.S. shows: it’s a rare chance to see a Hungarian musical reboot of a beloved national film, different from Broadway-style revivals
Cons
The subject isn’t widely known outside Hungary: U.S. visitors likely won’t recognize the 1934 Meseautó film, so nostalgia factor is lost
Nagykanizsa is not a globally famous destination, so fewer tourist amenities in English and less “big city” nightlife around the show
Hungarian dialogue/lyrics may limit deeper humor and wordplay; no guarantee of subtitles
Compared to major European/Broadway productions, production scale and venue tech may feel smaller, depending on touring setup
