Visegrád’s living Middle Ages are back every Saturday this fall and beyond at Duna-parti út 1, with the Renaissance Restaurant whisking families into a 14th-century adventure. Book early and dive into the Visegrád Knight Games, complete with a coronation, duels, falconry, and a royal feast—an irresistible Danube Bend (Dunakanyar) crowd-pleaser.
Be Crowned and Cheer the Champions
Members of the Order of Saint George stage a full-blooded knightly tournament, showing how warriors once fought for the king’s and queen’s favor in medieval Visegrád. The show kicks off by choosing a king and queen from the audience, dressing them in royal cloaks and placing crowns on their heads. At the king’s command, knights march in and prove their aim and close-combat skills with period weapons before the royal couple and their guests. The duels feel authentic, thrilling, and often witty, while a royal hunting falcon swoops overhead. At the finale, guests can handle and try medieval weapons under expert guidance.
