Péter Felméri Hits Budapest With 2026 Shows

Péter Felméri brings bilingual stand-up to Dumaszínház with 2026 Budapest shows and online tickets; witty, borderless comedy hits clubs, theaters, and festivals across Hungary.
when: 2026.01.05., Monday, Budapest

Péter Felméri is lining up a fresh run of Dumaszínház performances in 2025/2026 with online tickets. Born in Cluj-Napoca (Kolozsvár), he roamed Harlem’s subway and circled the woods of Central Park before landing at Dumaszínház in Budapest. His humor doesn’t recognize borders, languages, or room size—he’s game for anything from tiny clubs to open air, hotels to theaters, even, he jokes, spaceships.

From Festival Win to Capital Crowd

He tried comedy at friends’ urging and won the Transylvanian Humor Festival in 2006. After testing himself at Dumaszínház’s talent hunt, the Fiatal Félőrültek Fesztiválja, in 2007, he slowly migrated to the capital. He admits the 7th District is his favorite—let’s forgive him. He’s performed on land and water, in Hungarian and English, for small and large audiences across closed rooms, public squares, village festivals, boats, and planes.

He went to kindergarten, school, and university—no one cares. In 2011 he published his lone novel, “The Three UFOs” (“A három UFÓ”), a light, funny story set in today’s Budapest. Online ticketing is available for all dates. Organizers reserve the right to change times and programs.

Pros
+
Online tickets make planning easy from the U.S.
+
Family-friendly vibes if your teens/older kids enjoy stand-up; content is generally mainstream club comedy
+
Performer does shows in both Hungarian and English at times, so there’s a chance of English-friendly sets or mixed-language bits
+
Multiple Budapest dates in central districts (Józsefváros) near popular areas, good for combining with sightseeing
+
Venues are reachable by Budapest’s excellent public transport (M3/M4 metro, trams) or cheap taxis; driving/parking possible but not needed
+
Dates spread across 2026, so it’s easy to match a Europe trip
+
Budapest is a well-known, affordable city for U.S. travelers with lots of bars and late-night eats around the venues - Most sets are likely in Hungarian, so non-speakers may miss a lot of jokes
Cons
Péter Felméri isn’t a household name in the U.S., so you’re betting on discovery rather than a “must-see” star
Out-of-Budapest shows (Eger, Balatonfüred, Mosonmagyaróvár, Lajosmizse) need a car or longer train/bus rides
Compared to English-language stand-up hubs (London, NYC), there are fewer English shows and less tourist-oriented material
