Budapest’s Hungarian National Gallery is rolling out playful guided tours and hands-on workshops for school-age kids, with rotating monthly themes and clubs spanning storytelling, drama, animation, and nature. Museum educators lean into memorable, experience-first learning; upon request, gallery visits can blend into studio sessions where children pick up practical techniques that deepen the topic in fresh, creative ways.
Color It Again! Detective Art Lab
January 14, 21, 28, 2026, 4:00 PM–5:30 PM. Little sleuths go on an art mystery hunt through the Gallery, tracking a great painter: Lajos Tihanyi. They’ll scrutinize dozens of his works, hunting for hidden clues tucked into the paintings. Piece by piece, the puzzle comes together—if they’re sharp enough. Creation is part of the chase: kids “fake” paintings, make a composite suspect image, and experiment with photo edits as part of their investigative toolkit. Children attend independently, without guardians. After the session, staff will escort the group back to the information desk at 5:30–5:40 PM. Meeting point: information desk. Ages: 6–12. Max group: 15. Program fee: $6.90. The Creative Studio announces a new theme every month, with standalone sessions—join any date without missing a beat.
Toddlers – Snowflake Dance

Watch the forest turn white and spot the colors hiding in snowy landscapes. Sing, tell stories, and dance with the snowflakes. Recommended ages: 2–4. Max group: 12 children. Duration: 60 minutes.
