The Goldmark Károly Cultural Center in Keszthely is rolling out a friendly, lively roster for families across the seasons, mixing music, puppets, nursery rhymes, crafts, and dance. The message is simple: bring the little ones, join in, and keep coming back—there’s something nearly every week.
Kerekítő Nursery Rhyme Wednesdays
The heartbeat of the schedule is Kerekítő Mondókázó, a weekly Wednesday session designed for ages 0–3. It’s a cozy blend of puppet sketches featuring the cheeky Kerekítő Manó, hands-on instrument play, songs, and traditional Hungarian nursery rhymes, all guided by Attila Zólyomi. Families meet at GKMKK’s Great Hall every Wednesday at 9:30. Dates run uninterrupted from January through July: January 14, 21, and 28; February 4, 11, 18, and 25; March 4, 11, 18, and 25; April 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29; May 6, 13, 20, and 27; June 3, 10, 17, and 24; and July 1. If you’ve got a toddler who loves rhythm, this is your weekly fix.
Winter Craft Burst: Break the Ice
On Saturday, January 17, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the center’s Folk Tale Point (NépmesePont) hosts Jégtörő Kreatív Játszóház, a “break-the-ice” creative playhouse where kids can warm up after snowy fun outside and craft winter animals using a mix of techniques. Led by facilitator Adél Tóth, the workshop is all about texture, color, and a welcoming winter vibe. The space is set up to be hands-on and flexible, perfect for different ages and interests, and it’s a great way to let little fingers explore while adults connect.
Stick Around for the Children’s Dance House
Right after the craft session wraps at 5:00 p.m., the beat continues with a Children’s Dance House (Gyermek Táncház) powered by the Re-Folk Band. Expect live folk tunes, easy-to-follow dance steps, and singalong moments that invite even the shyest feet onto the floor. It’s traditional, it’s energetic, and it ties the day together in festive style, turning the creative spark of the workshop into full-body movement.
Where to Go and When
Everything happens in Keszthely at the Goldmark Károly Cultural Center. Kerekítő Wednesdays meet in the Great Hall (GKMKK, Nagyterem) at 9:30. The January 17 creative playhouse runs 3:00–5:00 p.m. at the Folk Tale Point (NépmesePont), followed by the Children’s Dance House with the Re-Folk Band starting at 5:00 p.m. The weekly rhythm and the special weekend splash make it easy to plug family time into your calendar without overthinking it.
