Visegrád keeps the steel singing every Saturday this season with a one-of-a-kind medieval spectacle: a full knight tournament in the Solomon Tower (Salamon-torony) and a royal feast at the Renaissance Restaurant. The weekly program unfolds at the Palace House (Palotaház) and draws crowds with pageantry, combat, and a banquet fit for a court.
How the day plays out
Members of the Order of Saint George (Szent György Lovagrend) recreate how 14th‑century warriors fought for the favor of the king and queen. At the start, the knights pick a king and a queen from the audience, robe them in royal cloaks, and crown them. On the king’s cue, armored contenders parade in and prove their aim and dueling skills with authentic medieval weapons. The bouts are realistic, thrilling, and sprinkled with humor, celebrating boldness and bravado. A royal hunting falcon flight adds flair. To close, guests can handle and try medieval weapons under guidance.
