Pécs’ Zsolnay Cultural Quarter, the former porcelain manufactory now reborn as a creative campus, lines up a rich mix of temporary and permanent shows through winter and early spring 2026. Heritage from the Zsolnay dynasty anchors the program, while contemporary and emerging artists step into the spotlight across galleries, villas, and workshop rooms.
Design Icons, Guided
On January 30, culture researcher and MOME associate professor Anna Keszeg leads a tour of Designikonok – tegnap és ma (Design Icons – Yesterday and Today), decoding iconic objects and the stories behind them through a sharp contemporary lens. On February 6, curator Valéria Fekete takes over with her own guided walkthrough, focusing on curatorial choices and context. The exhibition’s flagship piece: Salvador Dalí’s limited-edition Oggetto Inutile for Alessi Design Factory, a glittering warning light for where design crosses into fine art. The show runs December 12, 2025 to March 29, 2026 at m21 Gallery (m21 Galéria).
Hands-On Family Labs
Family-friendly “Kortársék” workshops plug visitors directly into making. January 31, 4:00–6:00 p.m., in the Product Design room: sketch and shape objects, discuss function versus wild creativity, and push ideas to the limits. February 21, 4:00–6:00 p.m., in the Lamps room: Electronic Tinkering // Light Garland, where students from the University of Pécs (PTE) Electronic Music and Media Art program help craft bespoke light strings amid time-travel vibes from 1950s–80s Czechoslovak and Hungarian lamps. March 21, 4:00–6:00 p.m.: a Bag Workshop in the third room spotlights contemporary fashion inspired by the NUBU designer brand, blending design and visual art into offbeat accessories.
Zsolnay Heritage, Close-Up
Trace “In the Footsteps of the Zsolnay Family” through their former home on January 31, February 21, and February 28. The themed tour “Zsolnay and Pécs” explores the Family and Factory History Exhibition on February 7. Secrets surface on February 14 during The Secrets of the Zsolnay Girls at the Sikorski Villa, a 90-minute deep dive.

The Zsolnay Golden Age – Gyugyi Collection offers repeated discovery tours: January 31–February 1, February 7–8, February 14–15, February 21–22, and February 28.
Sculpture, Six Decades Strong
From November 30, 2025 to February 22, 2026, m21 Gallery (m21 Galéria) stages The Response of the Material – Sándor Kecskeméti, a sweeping survey of nearly sixty years. Expect one of Hungarian contemporary sculpture’s most consistent, sensitive bodies of work—material speaking back across time.
