Vibrant, hands-on programs are rolling out for elementary kids at the Hungarian National Gallery in Budapest, with playful guided tours, monthly creative workshops, and clubs steeped in storytelling, drama, animation, and nature. Beyond sharing knowledge, museum educators aim for full-on engagement. On request, gallery visits can be topped up with studio sessions where kids dive into the topic through fresh formats and practical techniques. Toddlers – Venetian Carnival
2026.02.10., 16:00–17:00. All aboard for Venice, the Italian city of the most exciting, elegant masked balls and grand parades. Little ones hop on a carousel, dance, try on roles, then craft the carnival’s must-have accessory: a lavish mask. Recommended age: 2–4. Max group: 12 kids. Duration: 60 minutes.
Color It Anew! – Museum Workshop for Kids
Three sessions: 2026.02.11., 16:00–17:30; 2026.02.18., 16:00–17:30; 2026.02.25., 16:00–17:30. How did people live long ago? What do images whisper about the past? Time-travel together into earlier eras through paintings, genre scenes, portraits, and old photos to peek at daily life: objects used, clothes worn, games played, dreams chased. Inspired by artworks, kids draw, paint, make comics, and spin their own stories. Kids attend independently, without guardians. After each session, participants are escorted as a group back to the info desk between 17:30–17:40. Meeting point: information desk. Ages: 6–12. Max: 15. Program fee: $6.99. The Creative Studio announces new themes monthly with a different program every time. Sessions are standalone—join any date. Monthly pass available: four sessions for $23.77 (instead of $27.97).
