Keszthely’s Goldmark Károly Cultural Center is rolling out a yearlong family program that mixes play, music, folklore, and hands-on creativity, welcoming babies, toddlers, older kids, and parents from winter through summer. The schedule is built around returning crowd-pleasers and one-off delights, with approachable hosts, convenient times, and a homey venue right in town. Admission details vary by event, and organizers reserve the right to change times and programs, so check before you go.
Kerekítő: Wednesdays for the littlest ones
The heartbeat of the calendar is Kerekítő Mondókázó, a weekly Wednesday session at 9:30 in the Great Hall of the Goldmark Károly Cultural Center (GKMKK). Aimed at ages 0–3, it blends puppet mini-dramas of the Kerekítő sprite, instrument play, songs, and traditional nursery rhymes to spark early language, rhythm, and social fun. Led by Attila Zólyomi, it’s gentle, musical, and highly interactive, designed for short attention spans and cuddle-time singalongs. Parents join in, little ones explore, and the vibe is relaxed and friendly.
Dates run from late winter into mid-summer: February 11, 18, and 25; March 4, 11, 18, and 25; April 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29; May 6, 13, 20, and 27; June 3, 10, 17, and 24; and July 1. Same time, same room, same host—consistency that’s gold for nap schedules. Expect simple instruments, rhythmic clapping, puppet peeks, and the kind of folk rhymes that stick in your head for days. Bring socks, a snack for after, and a willingness to sing along.
Carnival creativity at Népmesepont
On February 14, from 15:00 to 17:00, the Cultural Center’s Folk Tale Point (Népmesepont) opens for a cheerful Farsang Playhouse, a carnival-season workshop where kids can craft their own masks and simple instruments, then test them out in a festive mini-celebration. It’s free to join, welcoming children and families for a lively, no-pressure afternoon of making, playing, and laughter. Adél Tóth leads the session, keeping the energy upbeat and the projects doable for different ages. Expect cardboard, colors, rattles, and plenty of imagination—come as you are, leave with something bright for Farsang.
