The 45-minute tours start at 10:00 a.m. from the Parliament Visitor Centre at 1–3 Kossuth Lajos Square (Kossuth Lajos tér 1–3), 1055 Budapest, in the 5th District (Belváros-Lipótváros). Participation requires registration and a confirmation email; each tour is capped at 30 people. Sign up by 10:00 a.m. the day before the tour via the provided email address.
What the exhibition covers
Presented in eight chronological chapters, the show traces the roots, rise, and evolution of Hungarian parliamentarism from the Middle Ages to the regime change. The opening section follows the story from its early beginnings to the era of estate-based national assemblies. The second unit spans up to 1918, spotlighting the birth of the modern parliament: from reform-era assemblies and the creation of a representative legislature to the consolidation of a new, principles-based parliamentary system. The third section surveys 1918–1990, capturing shifts, false starts, and fresh starts in parliamentary life.
