For the first time in Hungary, Taste of Transylvania is bringing a three-day food and culture takeover to Szentendre (Szentendre) from Friday, March 27 to Sunday, March 29, 2026. It’s a lively meeting point for Transylvania (Erdély), Romania, and Hungary, where chefs, restaurants, and Transylvanian home cooks roll out the region’s wildly diverse cuisine—think heirloom recipes alongside bold, modern plates.
Plates, Pages, and Premieres
Beyond tastings and pop-ups, expect book launches and film screenings that trace food stories from the countryside to contemporary city tables. Easter shopping gets a spotlight too, with a themed market packed with seasonal products, while side events keep the pace up across the town’s cultural venues.
Stages Turn Up the Heat
Music powers the evenings with Bagossy Brothers Company, 4S Street, and Apple Band (Alma együttes) on stage. Between concerts, sample regional specialties, meet the makers, and learn from cooking demos led by both star chefs and seasoned Transylvanian home cooks (erdélyi főzőasszonyok). It’s a tight, flavor-first snapshot of a shared culinary heritage.
