Gyenesdiás rolls out a packed 2026 with culture, food, and lakeside vibes across multiple venues on the shore of Lake Balaton. From literary launches to horse races, brass concerts to family days, the calendar stacks up with confirmed and optional programs for every mood.
Feb 23 kicks off with Budapest Now, the launch of Péter Muszatics’s new book at the Town Hall. On Feb 26, the Károly Ujj Mészáros Film Club screens Csendes barát. March brings a Women’s Day greeting and show (Mar 6), a commemorative ceremony at János Kárpáti Primary School (Kárpáti János ÁAMI) and Heroes’ Garden (Mar 13), and Tamás Kiss’s illustrated talk Revolution in Music (Mar 16). Chanson Brass performs Oscar-winning scores on Mar 20. March 21 is stacked: the LEPKE endurance hike by the Forrásvíz Nature Friends, HolddalaNap’s Dance with the Universe concert at the New Cultural House, and a Scythian Celebration at the Imre Festetics Experience Center with an exhibition opening, shamanic drumming, and falconry. The New Testament Marathon runs Mar 21–22 at the Town Hall.
Mar 28 opens the Producers’ Market and Fruit-Grafting Day, plus Easter preparations at the Town Hall and Pásztorház yard, followed by Easter programs Mar 28–Apr 6. A Chat Party with Péter Rudolf takes place Mar 30, and the Bunny Ears (Nyuszifül) Festival family day hops into the Experience Center on Apr 3. April continues with a Zselenszky evening (Apr 13) and the Dvorák & Patka Theatre’s Late Lament for Attila József (Apr 14). The Zala Balaton Shore Concert Wind Orchestra brings film music to Ligetplex Cinema on Apr 18, alongside the Budburst Spring Festival Apr 18–19.
Judit Schell’s musical solo show My Companion, Shirley MacLaine lands May 14. Maypole dance-out and Children’s Day parties take over Kárpáti Promenade and the Producers’ Market on May 23 and May 30. National Cohesion Day and Trianon Remembrance is June 4 at Heroes’ Garden. Art Courtyard runs at the Pásztorház yard on June 10, 17, 24, and July 1. GYÖNGY – Gyenesdiás Volunteer Healing Days (Nagymező) spans June 26–28.

Memorials honor the Martyrs of Arad on Oct 6 and Oct 22 at János Kárpáti Primary School (Kárpáti János ÁAMI) and Heroes’ Garden.
Advent candle lightings glow Nov 28, Dec 5, 12, and 19. Advent in the Animal Park charms on Nov 29 at the Experience Center. The Town Hall hosts the Community Santa celebration on Dec 4 and a baby photo exhibition for Gyenesdiás’s 2026 newborns on Dec 10. Advent Chestnut Roasting and Christmas Market warm Dec 12–13, with the Nativity Play on Dec 24 at the Town Hall.
