Gyula rolls out a packed 2026 with festivals, concerts, theater, candlelit castle tours, and foodie adventures across multiple venues. From spring to autumn, the historic castle and the Gyula Castle Theatre (Gyulai Várszínház) anchor the city’s biggest events, while the famed Gyula Castle Bath (Gyulai Várfürdő) keeps swimmers busy with popular poolside programs. Plan early: there’s something here for night owls, history buffs, beer lovers, theater fans, and families with dogs named Dönci.
February 20–22 brings guaranteed programs at Gyula Castle (Gyulai Vár), with living-history vibes and guided experiences. February 21 is stacked: “Speaking Flowers – The Treasures of the Almásy Mansion” (Beszédes virágok – Az Almásy-kastély kincsei) uncovers floral symbolism in the Almásy treasures, while “The Mansion by Candlelight” (A kastély gyertyafényben) lets you roam the mansion by candlelight. Beer fans can hit “Brewery Drop-in” (Sörházi beugró) at Elixbeer Brewery (Elixbeer Sörfőzde) for a visit and tasting, and “Corset and Revolution” (Fűző és forradalom) explores corsets and revolutions. The Ladics House (Ladics-ház) presents “The Empress’s Teacup” (Császárné csészéje), a story told through an empress’s teacup, and the castle opens for “Torchlit Castle Tours” (Gyertyafényes vártúrák), moody torchlit tours.
On February 22, families can join “Castle Tour with Dönci the Dachshund” (Kastélytúra Tacskó Döncivel), a dachshund-led castle walk, plus repeat runs of “Corset and Revolution” and “The Empress’s Teacup.” Yours Truly 2026 hits Gyula the same day.
