Gyenesdiás lines up a lively 2026 with culture, food, film, music, and family fun across multiple venues around Lake Balaton. From literary premieres and sacred marathons to fish feasts, horse racing, and artisan days, the calendar is stacked and strollable.
Kick off on February 23 with Budapest Now, the launch of Péter Muszatics’s new book at the Town Hall. On February 26, the Károly Ujj Mészáros Film Club screens Silent Friend (Csendes barát). March brings a Women’s Day greeting and show (Mar 6), a national remembrance at Kárpáti János Primary Art School and Heroes’ Garden (Mar 13), and Tamás Kiss’s illustrated talk Revolution in Music (Mar 16). Chanson Brass performs Oscar-winning scores (Mar 20). Also on Mar 21: the LEPKE endurance hike; Dance with the Universe – a HolddalaNap concert at the New Cultural House; and a Scythian celebration at the Imre Festetics Experience Center with an exhibition opening, shaman drums, and falconry. The New Testament Marathon spans Mar 21–22. Market Opening and Fruit Grafting Day hits the Producers’ Market Mar 28, alongside Easter crafting at Town Hall and the Pásztorház yard; Easter programs run Mar 28–Apr 6. Actor-director Péter Rudolf headlines a Traccsparti talk on Mar 30.
April 3 brings the Bunny Ear Festival family day at the Imre Festetics Experience Center. Zselenszky Evening with Tamás Török-Zselenszky (Apr 13) and Late Lament, a József Attila night by the Dvorák & Patka Theatre (Apr 14), both at Town Hall. The Zalai Balaton-part Concert Wind Orchestra plays film music at Ligetplex Cinema (Apr 18). Budburst – Spring Festival follows Apr 18–19. Judit Schell’s musical solo, My Travel Companion, Shirley MacLaine arrives May 14. Maypole dancing and a Children’s Day bash land May 23 and again May 30 at Kárpáti Promenade and the Producers’ Market. National Unity Day and Trianon Remembrance is June 4 at Heroes’ Garden. Art Courtyard at the Pásztorház yard runs June 10, 17, 24, and July 1. GYÖNGY – Gyenesdiás Volunteer Healing Days fill Nagymező June 26–28.
Savor the Gyenesdiás Bleak Fish Festival July 4–5, then Gyenesdiás Wine Days July 9–12. The MASTAFF Summer Fest dog show takes over Kárpáti Promenade July 25–26. A themed exhibit on the 200-year-old St. Helena Chapel opens July 31 at Town Hall. Woodcarving Days and Altér Fest both run Aug 6–9. St. Stephen’s Day is Aug 20. The 17th Festetics Gallop, a regional qualifier of the National Gallop, rides in Aug 23. Bid summer farewell with the Beetle Meeting Aug 27–30. Harvest Revelry returns Sep 5, followed by a Csodaszarvas family day at the Imre Festetics Experience Center Sep 13, and the 15th Gyenesdiás Potato Day Sep 19.

Advent candle lightings glow Nov 28, Dec 5, 12, and 19, with Advent in the Animal Park at the Imre Festetics Experience Center Nov 29. The Municipal Santa celebration is Dec 4 at Town Hall. A baby photo exhibition for Gyenesdiás’s 2026 newborns opens Dec 10 at Town Hall. Advent Chestnut Roasting and Christmas Fair unfolds Dec 12–13, and the Shepherds’ Play closes the year Dec 24 at Town Hall.
