Spend Saturdays in Visegrád stepping straight into the 14th century: a live knights’ tournament at Salamon Tower and a princely royal feast at the Renaissance Restaurant. This one-of-a-kind national program runs every Saturday this season at the Palace House (Palotaház), pairing steel-on-steel action with a courtly banquet right after.
Members of the Order of Saint George stage a vivid tournament showing how warriors once fought for the favor of the king and queen in medieval Visegrád. At the start, the knights select a king and a queen from the audience, robe and crown them, then march in on the monarchs’ command. With authentic medieval weapons, they show off precision and dueling skills before the royal couple and their guests, mixing realism, thrills, and a dash of humor. A royal hunting falcon flight adds spectacle. After the show, guests can try medieval arms with guidance from the knights.
