The city and its scenic surroundings pack in exhibitions, festivals, and family programs, with plenty of hiking and tourism options for weekenders and longer stays alike. Here’s what to circle on your calendar, from candlelit classical concerts to street festivals, craft fairs, and big-name tours.
On February 27, Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons returns in a candlelight concert setting at Art Cinema Zalaegerszeg, an intimate way to hear the Baroque blockbuster in the city center.
The same day features a finissage guided tour through the Egry József emlékezete (In Memory of József Egry) exhibition, wrapping up the show with curator insight and last-chance viewing. Around this time, there’s also a guided visit at the Memorial Site of the Victims of Communism, offering a sober, educational stop in the city’s cultural circuit.
On February 28, the beloved children’s show Kisvakond, a turista (The Little Mole, the Tourist) pops up as a family program by Dörmögő Dömötör Színház at the Mindszentyneum. Tickets are listed at 4,200 HUF (about 11.70 USD).

July 11 belongs to the Gébárti Népművészeti Fesztivál (Gébárti Folk Art Festival), a folk art fair at the Gébárti area that puts artisans and heritage crafts front and center.
