Tata’s lakeside jewel, Malom és Kacsa Boutique Hotel and Restaurant, rolls into 2026 with a punchy, eclectic program: intimate theater and stand-up, meditative sound journeys, gourmet wine dinners, sauna rituals, live Irish music nights, and cross-genre performances. Set on the shore of Old Lake (Öreg-tó) in Tata, the venue blends historic charm with modern indulgence, serving up unforgettable evenings where flavors, stories, and sounds meet—plus some of the finest plates and pours in town.
March 11 – Theater: Apád előtt ne vetkőzz (Don’t Undress in Front of Your Father)
Age 18+ only. Written by Éva Péterfy-Novák and adapted/directed by István Tasnádi, this searing stage work features performances by Bori Péterfy and Ferenc Pataki, visuals by Adrienn Antal-Fógel, poster by László Csáfordi, and production by Tibor Orlai. Two parallel narratives interlock across time. In the early 1920s, the Spanish flu takes the parents of eight-year-old Károly and four-year-old Anna, who are sent to an orphanage. Half a century later, within the same family, five-year-old Eszter forms an unusually tender bond with her grandfather, Tatus—the only person she feels she can truly trust. Gradually, the story reveals how that trust is exploited. Can distorted family patterns that echo across generations be broken? From the creators of Egyasszony (One Woman), this is a fearless confrontation with taboo. A collaboration between Óbuda Cultural Center (Óbudai Kulturális Központ), FÜGE, and Orlai Production Office (Orlai Produkciós Iroda). Venue: 2890 Tata, Tópart u. 19.
March 14–15 – Sauna Fanatics Weekend
Inside the walls of Malom és Kacsa Boutique Hotel, sauna culture takes center stage. If the sauna is your ritual—experience, passion, and community rolled into one—this weekend is your playground. On the Old Lake (Öreg-tó) shoreline in the heart of Tata, expect special sauna ceremonies, themed pours, essential oil rituals, and a full-on sauna master show. Recovery is built in: take cooling breaks in the fresh air, sink into relaxation zones, and drink in the lakeside calm. Venue: Tata.
March 17 – An Irishly Good Evening
A one-night hop to Ireland for St. Patrick’s Day. Bring something green, because the taps are going emerald too: Guinness flows with a creamy head, the way it should. From 19:00, authentic Irish music live by Seamróg feat. Márti. The kitchen sends out chef’s specials inspired by Ireland—bold, characterful plates made to match the beer and the band. Venue: Tata.
March 20 – Soul-Soother: Guided Relaxation with Live Sound and a Spring-Inspired Culinary Journey
An evening where the body is embraced by flavors and the soul by sound. It opens with a guided deep relaxation accompanied by crystal singing bowls—an immersion into vibrations where thoughts quiet, the soul wraps itself in silence, and the body releases stress, suppressed emotions, and tension. Then comes the second act: a gastronomic journey inspired by nature’s spring treasures. The restaurant’s chef plates the very essence of the season—aromatic, vivid, texturally rich dishes that delight not just the palate but the spirit too. More than a dinner, more than a relaxation session—this is a rare sanctuary for a tired soul. Claim your quality me-time; it’s not a luxury, it’s a need. Venue: Tata.
March 27 – Wine Dinner: Iconic Wines from Historic Wine Regions
Legendary wineries, timeless bottles, and a meticulously paired menu that maps you through great wine regions course by course. Malom és Kacsa’s sommelier, Benjámin Szeredi, leads the night with expert guidance, stories, and pitch-perfect pairings—elegance, knowledge, and experience poured into every glass. Expect harmony of flavors and aromas animated by the venue’s cozy lakeside vibe. Venue: Tata.
April 15 – Against the Wind (Széllel szembe): Tamás Jordán’s Stand-Up Night
Tamás Jordán brings razor-sharp stand-up under the title Against the Wind (Széllel szembe), threading poetry straight into his storytelling flow. He delivers poems so naturally it feels like he’s just extending the anecdote. Jokes, wry histories, and the words of Karinthy, Kosztolányi, Radnóti, Attila József, Ady, and Babits fuse into something playful and profound. Light, easy stories that outgrow their frames, played across a stunning emotional and tonal range. The show won the Vidor Festival Special Prize in 2013 for exemplary genre innovation. Venue: Tata.
May 13 – Sugar Baby (Cukorbaba): A Theatrical Unveiling Inspired by Lujza Blaha
Sugar Baby (Cukorbaba) stretches the borders of theater, music, literature, and puppetry—an all-arts performance that is both confession and show in every beat. It tackles sharp, timely questions: the trials of an actress’s craft, ownership of the female body, the line between stage and private life, and the expectations behind the price of love. Alongside reflections from great actresses, you’ll hear the voices of today’s YouTubers and celebrity influencers. What is stardom? What’s an affectation? How do value systems shift? What does it mean to be an actress, to be a woman, to step in front of an audience and own yourself? Venue: Tata.
