March 28-29: Adam Play (Ádám-játék) and Palm Sunday Living Passion
Experience the deepest mystery of Christianity as the passion, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ touch your soul. On Palm Sunday, March 29 at 3 p.m., join the Living Passion mystery play winding through Veszprém’s iconic spots—from the Séd Stream Valley and Margit Ruins up to Benedek Hill. New this year: the Adam Play (Ádám-játék) premiere on March 28 at 7 p.m. amid the Margit Ruins. This ancient French mystery play, one of Europe’s earliest known dramas and contemporary with the Halotti speech, dramatizes the Fall—where the tempter overcomes the first humans, but the promise of the Savior’s coming offers hope that still shapes our existence. Everyone is welcome at both shows.
March 29: Padányi Schola Passion Performance
The Padányi Schola will lead the music at the 10:30 a.m. archdiocesan Mass in St. Michael’s Cathedral, performing passion songs to heighten the Easter spirit.
