At Gyula’s Almásy Mansion Visitor Center, the cafe and museum gift shop staff greet you warmly with cute wares—open 10am-6pm except Mondays.
Százéves Cukrászda (Century-Old Patisserie), running since 1840, is Hungary’s second-oldest patisserie. In its Empire-style building with ornate painted walls, original Biedermeier furniture, and classic cakes, parfaits, candies, and ice creams, it whisks you back to the bustling days of old coffeehouses. Always a community spot (proven by vault fresco fragments), the 1984-86 restoration revived its reform-era vibes, turning the old workshop into a patisserie museum with period tools. A 2004 revamp keeps it the Southern Great Plain’s crown jewel, delivering unique thrills.
