The National Association of Folk Craft Creator Houses is hosting the National Folk Crafts Heritage Month from April 17 to May 17, 2026. This event lets people dive into various folk craft skills at heritage sites through workshops, kids’ play sessions, craft demonstrations, training sessions, lectures, courses, exhibitions, and more. It’s all about passing down traditional know-how in creative ways.
Call to Join the National Event
Heritage sites, folk craft creator houses, open workshops, workshop galleries, cultural institutions, organizations, and private studios are all welcome to sign up. Share your programs happening from April 17 to May 17 that introduce, promote, or teach any aspect of folk crafts. Join with unique events that authentically showcase local traditions and the values of folk crafts and folk art. The goal is to spotlight how folk crafts fit into our daily lives, sparking creativity and hands-on work while using natural materials for a sustainable environment. It also draws attention to the network of workshop galleries, open studios, and folk craft houses across the Carpathian Basin, where skilled masters guide knowledge-sharing in equipped spaces. Visitors get to experience the joy of making usable items they can take home. Check out our third edition of the “Láss, ne csak nézz” (See, Don’t Just Look) online publication for a taste of our members’ diverse activities.
How to Sign Up
Register by April 10, 2026, by completing and submitting the form on our website, along with 2-3 photos to the specified email address. Detailed programs from each site will appear on the association’s website, Facebook page, and Programturizmus site. Organizers reserve the right to change times and programs.
