Open every day at 1222 Budapest, District 22 – Budafok-Tétény, Nagytétényi út 37–43, the city’s famed “Shark Zoo” promises family-ready adventures and close-up looks at animals’ daily drama.

Rainforest Encounters
In the rainforest zone, buy feed from the machine and hand-feed colorful koi carp that live right beside the alligators—an electrifying, one-of-a-kind moment. Guided tours spotlight piranha behavior and invite you to feed rays, monkeys, and birds with an expert at your side. Above the gators, tropical rain falls every 15 minutes, amplifying the jungle vibe.
Stars of the “Shark Zoo”
From laid-back alligators to exotic reptiles, amphibians, tiny monkeys, free-flying birds, and thousands of vivid fish species, the Tropicarium brings the world’s wildlife under one roof—plus the ocean’s heavyweight celebrities: sharks. At the ray touch pool, everyone can gently stroke these graceful creatures and, with keepers’ help, even feed them.
Shark Tunnel and Dive Feedings
Beneath the shark tank, a 39-foot viewing tunnel brings sand tiger and brown sharks almost within reach. The Thursday shark feeding at 3:00 p.m. is a showstopper, as divers hand-feed the predators right in front of you.
