The Zsolnay Cultural Quarter in Pécs, born from the Pécs 2010 European Capital of Culture project, has grown into the region’s go-to hub for arts, culture, and leisure. The 7625 Pécs, Zsolnay Quarter (Zsolnay Negyed) campus is rolling out a full 2026 slate of concerts, talks, science shows, theater, and festivals, plus family days, stargazing, and plenty of dance floors to wear out your shoes.

Spring Warm-Up: Cafés, Dance, and Science

April kicks off with the Alzheimer Café on April 23, a community-minded meet-up in Pécs. The next day, the Zsolnay táncház turns up a South Slavic folk dance house with Misija tambura band (Misija tamburazenekar), inviting everyone to circle up and learn the steps.
On April 25, Varázsóra – From Colliding Balls to Colliding Atoms (Varázsóra – Ütköző golyóktól az ütköző atomokig) dives into physics with hands-on demos, followed that night by a telescope showcase marking Astronomy Day. From April 30 to May 2, Pécs University Days (Pécsi Egyetemi Napok) brings campus energy to the Quarter.

On May 6, The Meeting of Two Lenses (Két objektív találkozása) – a guided tour with photographer László Körtvélyesi at the Szipál exhibition – offers an insider’s look at portraits and process.
