May 1: Péntekecske Friday Night

Kick off the month on Friday, May 1, with a cozy, kid-focused Shabbat welcome inside the Zsiliputi Playhouse. While adults attend Rabbi Glitzi’s teaching in the synagogue, children enjoy guided play with a madricha: weekly Torah portion highlights, what makes Shabbat special, and the current holiday—brought to life with pictures, stories, and plenty of games. Extra motivation: well-behaved participation earns a small gift, and there’s a raffle to boot. Bring the whole family and let everyone’s Sabbath learning happen under one roof.

May 3: Zsiliputi Jewish Sunday School

Sunday morning is back in a big way. The refreshed Zsiliputi Jewish Sunday School welcomes children ages 4–14 (teens included) from 10:00 to 12:30. Sessions are split by age group, mixing active play with bite-sized learning. Kids prepare for upcoming holidays together, explore mitzvot, meet traditions up close, and absorb core values designed to travel with them through life. Alumni still swap stories about the fun years later—expect that same energy and warmth in the updated program across the playhouse and dedicated study rooms.

May 8: Péntekecske Friday Night

Another mini-Shabbat welcome returns on Friday, May 8, with the same winning combo: playful learning with a madricha for little ones, Rabbi Glitzi’s talk for adults, picture-and-game storytelling, small rewards for good listening, and a lively raffle. Families learn, unwind, and head into Shabbat together.

May 10: Zsiliputi Jewish Sunday School

Sunday School continues on May 10, 10:00–12:30, again for ages 4–14. Age-based groups dive into holiday prep, mitzvot, and tradition through interactive activities that make knowledge stick—and make kids want to come back.

May 15: Péntekecske Friday Night

Friday, May 15 brings another children’s Shabbat welcome with the now-familiar flow: a madricha-led play session about the weekly portion, Shabbat, and the current holiday; gifts for attentive participation; a fun raffle; and a parallel adult learning session with Rabbi Glitzi.

May 17: Zsiliputi Jewish Sunday School

Close out the listed dates on Sunday, May 17, 10:00–12:30, with the Sunday School’s age-tiered program. Whether your child is little, a tween, a teen-in-training, or approaching Bar/Bat Mitzvah, the Zsiliputi Jewish Sunday School was designed with them in mind—fun, welcoming, and grounded in values.
