Siófok rolls out a packed late-April to June 2026 lineup across multiple venues on Lake Balaton’s south shore. Think retro beach parties, big-name concerts, boat trips, theater, kid-friendly shows, wellness pop-ups, and season-opening spectacles that turn promenades and parks into open-air stages. Here’s what to catch, day by day and week by week.
April 27 – May 3: Warm-Up Week
All week long, an outdoor sightseeing adventure game turns Siófok’s landmarks into a playful city quest—perfect with friends or family. From May 1–3, hop on Siófok’s lake cruises for fresh Balaton air and shoreline views.
May 1 brings an Ismerős Arcok concert, while May 1–2 the Siófoki Nagystrand (Great Beach) hosts Retro Majális, an ’80s-themed beach bash from 10:00 to 22:00 daily with iconic performers, stage shows, a “gastro yard,” and children’s programs. Dress in your best ’80s look—prizes go to the most stylish retro fits.
On May 3, the Madagascar Small Pet Exhibition runs 14:00–17:00 at the Munkacsarnok (Déli út 1). Expect meerkats as the surprise stars, photo ops with a macaw, cuddly petting zones, and plenty of adorable encounters. Tickets: children and seniors 3,000 HUF ($8.36), adults 3,500 HUF ($9.76).
May 4–10: Icons, Safety, and Stage Laughs
May 4, 19:00, Kálmán Imre Cultural Center: Zsuzsa Koncz—Kossuth, Franz Liszt, and Prima Primissima–honored legend—performs a full-band show, recharging her most defining songs with rich arrangements. Tickets 13,990 HUF ($39.02). City quest and boat trips continue all week.
May 7, 9:00–15:00: Transport Safety Day delivers hands-on demos and interactive gear for all ages—pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers welcome. The same evening at 19:00, Veres 1 Színház (Veres 1 Theater) brings Ne most, drágám! (Not Now, Darling!), Ray Cooney’s two-act farce set in a fur salon, starring Sándor Nagy as Gilbert and András Csonka as Arnold. Expect flying garments, hidden lovers, and high-speed misunderstandings over 110 minutes plus intermission. Tickets: floor 6,500 HUF ($18.10), balcony 6,000 HUF ($16.72).
Also May 7, 16:30 at the BRTK Library’s children’s section: Food Tales with Györgyi Kalas—free with a valid library card—answers why cakes are round, when the first pizza was baked, why macaroni has holes, and what food was entombed with pharaohs.
May 9–17: Health City and Cafe Vibes
May 9, 9:00, Siófoki Nagystrand (Great Beach): Richter Egészségváros (Health City) lands with free screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol, cardiovascular risk, prostate, osteoporosis, artery narrowing, neuropathy), talks, family activities, and donation points tracked via QR wristbands. Richter kicks in 3.5 million HUF ($9,762) as a base for the local hospital; your activity grows the pot—first entry earns double points.
May 11: Kávéházi Estek (Cafe Evenings)—pianist Sándor Péter in the Teátrum (tickets 3,500 HUF/$9.76). City quest and cruises run May 11–17.
May 12, 19:00: Bernard Slade’s Jövőre veled, ugyanitt 2. (Same Time, Next Year 2) at the Kálmán Imre Cultural Center—Doris (Lotti Kovács) and George (Márk Türei) keep a 25-year secret rendezvous alive in a warm, funny two-act romance directed by Jászai Prize–laureate Zsolt Körtvélyessy.
May 13, 17:00: Dr. Gabriella Mangó on the secret to a longer life at the BRTK Library—free. May 15, 16:30: Interactive live-bee show for World Bee Day, with hands-on hive insights and honey’s journey from comb to table; Happy Bees Balaton Mini apiary products on sale. Same day 17:00 at Perczel Mór Gymnasium: a talk by folk singer and ethnographer Dr. Irén Lovász.
May 18–25: Season Kickoff and Gallery Nights
May 18, 17:00, BRTK Library: 40 Hungarian Grands Prix – 7 Finnish Drivers, with F1 reporter-author Károly Méhes; opened by the Siófok Hungarian–Finnish Friendship Circle. City quest and cruises continue May 18–24.
May 22, the Pentecost Season Opening (Pünkösdi Szezonnyitó) ignites. At 18:00, the upstairs gallery at the Kálmán Imre Cultural Center opens István Móczár’s life-work: Egy vizualista képelő képtelenségei (A Visualist’s Impossible Images), as the 10th Siófok Balaton Salon (X. Siófoki Balaton Szalon), on view until August 14. Painter Lajos Veszeli opens; actress Katalin Karancz hosts. Later, 19:00 Időutazó Rock Band and 20:30 Pokolgép play the Hajóállomás (Harbor)—free entry. At Plázs Siófok, Attila Kökény & Viktor Rakonczai bring a big-band show, plus Imre Rakonczai & The Blue Piano (gates 19:00).
May 23 expands the celebration: 9:45 wreath-laying at Dr. Ferenc Zákonyi’s plaque; 10:00 Imre Kálmán memorial plaque ceremony in Millennium Park; 10:20 a festive parade to the Hajóállomás (Harbor). From 11:00, handing over the keys to the “Capital of Summer,” plus the Siófok Tourism Award, Imre Varga Art Award, and Siófok’s Wine 2026. The day stacks music and dance: Attila Dolhai and guests, Csaba Csuti & Bónus Együttes (retro hits), FreeStyle Dance Factory, Jeratel Bellydance Studio, Eszter Bíró, Danubia Percussion Ensemble, and a 20:30 Adrienn Szekeres concert. Meanwhile, Plázs throws its Grand Opening 22:00–04:00 with MARIO, MOLLYWOOD, VINI, VZS, Barta, Attila Bárány, Bia Bréda, Brook, CHRSTPHR, Gabriel Dancer, JAURi, and KATAPULT DJ. May 24 keeps the momentum: kids’ Iszkiri band, over-50s joy dance, multiple dance schools on stage, Eszter Kárász, Bolba Éva Trio, Diótörő Ballet Association, and a 20:30 Első Emelet gig. At Plázs: Bikini live 19:00–23:00, pre-set by DJ Dominique.
May 25 crowns the long weekend with a Family Health Expo by the Reménység (Hope) Foundation: clowns, puppets, dog therapy, brass bands, dance troupes, folk táncház, kids’ concerts, wellness screenings (blood pressure, glucose, oxygen saturation, BMI, lung capacity), medical, dietetic, dental, and lifestyle advice, CPR training by paramedics, water police tips 12:30–13:30, addiction counseling, dementia support, massage, physio, plus kids’ fun from face paint and henna to scooters and a giant prize draw.
May 30–June 7: Races, Guitars, Rap Nights
May 30 features the 12th Cofidis Tour de Balaton cycling event. Plázs hosts Kowalsky meg a Vega that evening (19:00–23:00). At 18:00 in the Lutheran Church (Oulu Park), Across Styles with Tamás Szekeres (Stílusokon át Szekeres Tamással) mixes Omega and Omega Oratorio classics with Bach and Vivaldi in crossover; joined by the Siófok Art School Children’s Choir and Siófok Women’s Choir. Tickets 3,000 HUF ($8.36).
May 31 is Children’s Day on Fő tér (Main Square)—free and stacked from morning: giant bubble shows (12:00–18:00), aerial/air track tryouts from age five, Exatlon 138-foot obstacle course, hoverboards, inflatables, creative workshops, and concerts by Edina Lovászi’s ABC show, Fellegjárók, Sólya folk band with dance house, and a finale by Rutkai Bori Banda. Family lake cruises add sparkle.
June 1–7 keeps the city quest and boat tours sailing. June 5 turns Plázs into RapCaviar, 22:00–04:00, with Tha Patkányz, Mikee Mykanic, FRANKO, Füstös, and Detto, plus an earlier Beton.Hofi – Co Lee show 19:00–23:00. June 6, a limited IKREK boat party sails 16:00–22:00 from the Hajóállomás (Harbor): Peter Makto’s exclusive six-hour 48th-birthday set. Also June 6, Ecsetre Fel! 3rd Painter Meetup invites beginners and pros to create together in a day of color and community.
